Each nursery I come across is a little window into the style of the family (or at least the mom). This Cypress Newborn Session in particular showcased a simple yet stunning starry night theme! Check out these images below to see the subtle features that made this nursery such cute inspiration for your baby nursery.
Stars and Moon
The first and most important part of the Starry Night theme in this room is the stars and moon of course.
Sheets (like the ones pictured below) are the best and perhaps the easiest place to start when adding items to fit your nursery theme.
Something that is arguably just as simple, but maybe with more of a thematic impact is wall hangings. Check out this dainty little constellation art hanging on the wall behind the rocker!
Did you see the moon? It’s funny, but when photographing this session I didn’t even notice the moon lamp. At night probably the only thing in that room emitting light is the moon (lamp). Kind of a little hidden easter egg don’t you think?
However, the one thing I absolutely loved was the furry star rugs! I can just imagine rubbing my feet on them while trying to stay awake at the early morning feeds.
Clouds
When entering the room I think my eyes went first to this incredibly fluffy cloud pendant. I didn’t do the best job featuring this item of the nursery in photos. Luckily that was not the point. This little cloud light was a way to add personality to the room without being too showy. Plus, as the little one gets older imagine this light becoming somewhat like a mobile helping lull the he/she to sleep.
The Crib
Again, here I am showcasing things I have never seen before. Look at the acrylic crib slats! Maybe it’s the sheen and glow, or just the modernity of it; I can’t really put my finger on how, but the crib really emphasizes the theme don’t you think?
The Color
I’m a HUGE sucker for colors that act like neutrals. If you know me at all you know I wear army green more than just about any other color in existence. This dark navy accent wall really pulled the theme together. The depth of the blue acts like the depths of the night sky and is a perfect addition of color (again, without stealing focus).
Bonus Bookshelf
I love these bookshelves. They don’t directly add to the theme of the Starry Night Nursery, but I do feel like they are a staple in most nurseries! These ones were floating acrylic shelves and tied in really well with the crib! Also, scroll back up to see how Mom incorporated more acrylic items into the room. The little side table is such a nice touch!
