I can finally share his face!
I have waited 7 months to share this baby’s face! A huge congratulations to the Ticer family who finalized the adoption of their sweet child THIS WEEK! I’ve only been able to share the non-facial details until now. So, here we go! I finally get to share this beautiful Houston adoption with you.
I have been able to watch this family along their journey of infertility, applying for adoption, and finally bringing their baby home. Photographing this session just hit a little bit differently than other newborn sessions. There was an unmatched thankfulness that’s hard to describe. Not that other families with biological children aren’t grateful for the babies that they bring home, but I got to watch the long and painful journey these two traversed through. Now being on the other end of the journey, I could see the gratefulness shown in their eyes.
Special details that tell the story
There are even little details sprinkled throughout the session that is a beautiful testament to their story. This little blue and white blanket was made by the birth grandmother for the baby to have as a token of his heritage. I just love these sentimental items. They make every session unique for the family.
For this session, I took it a little extra slow. Often times I like to chat with mom about her birth story, but obviously, this was different. I had so many questions and even teared up a few times listening to how much this adoptive mother loves and cherishes the birth family. In the adoptive mother’s own words, she maintained just how “brave and selfless” the birth mother was to give her such a precious gift!
And now, after much waiting, we can share this sweet baby with the world (or at least the internet world) ha. I took these photos months ago and legally wasn’t able to share them then, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t need to be seen.
The Ticer Family adopted their son through New Life Adoption. “New Life Adoptions is a non-profit, Christian ministry to women in unintended pregnancies and a licensed adoption agency. They provide life-affirming alternatives and practical assistance through free guidance, education, and unplanned pregnancy options.”
